Leah came into my life at a time when I had so much pent up inside, my emotions were beginning to burst out at the seams. For a long time I thought I could process all of my big feelings and experiences on my own, but that’s just not how humans are wired—we don't heal in isolation, we heal in community.

I needed the undistracted witnessing of a trusted friend; the words of a wise elder; the healing energy of a medicine woman. While Leah is not yet an elder, she operates from a breadth of knowledge, experience and insight, and, at one point or another, has embodied all of those archetypes for me.

I'm not suggesting that one person can or should be your savior, that's your job, but widening your circle little by little is a step back towards a sense of community that many of us have lost touch with.
